On October 13, 2015, Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Foreign Minister Lubomír Zaorálek of the Czech Republic jointly met the press after their talks in Prague.

Lubomír Zaorálek fully affirmed the progress achieved in bilateral relations since last year, stressed the great significance of Chinese Foreign Minister's first visit to the Czech Republic in 14 years and expressed his hope that bilateral all-round cooperation will score new and greater development.

Wang Yi said that during his visit to the Czech Republic, he met with President Milos Zeman and Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka and held talks with Foreign Minister Lubomír Zaorálek. Both sides held that they are satisfied with the current situation of bilateral relations and agreed that bilateral relations have embarked on a correct development path. Wang Yi said that this sound situation was a result of the important decision made by the new Czech government last year to overcome the difficulties hampering bilateral relations and its core lies in mutually respecting each other's major interests and concerns. The facts today have proven that the decision was absolutely correct and in line with the fundamental and long-term interests of the Czech Republic and its people. China appreciates the positive China polity pursued by the Czech government, and is willing to meet each other half way. His visit to the Czech Republic at invitation is to send a clear signal to the outside world that China values bilateral relations and will join efforts with the country to open up the future for bilateral friendly relations.

Wang Yi said that both countries have reached a series of consensus on how to advance bilateral cooperation in the next stage. Both countries agreed to jointly construct the Silk Road Economic Belt and discuss and sign the framework document on "Belt and Road" at an early date to bring strong impetus to bilateral relations; promote mutually beneficial cooperation with an emphasis on five major fields of infrastructure, industry, science and technology, finance and people-to-people and cultural engagement; jointly push the cooperation process between China and the Central and Eastern Europe (16+1), and the Czech Republic is willing to leverage its own advantages to continue playing a leading role in such areas as health care, local affairs and people-to-people and cultural engagement; join efforts to earnestly prepare and strive for positive results from Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka's attendance of the 4thmeeting of Heads of Government of China and Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC) in China and his visit to China.
