President Andrzej Duda of Poland Meets with Wang Yi

On October 14, 2015, President Andrzej Duda of Poland met with Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the presidential office in Warsaw.

Andrzej Duda expressed that this year marks the 66th anniversary of the establishment of Poland-China diplomatic relations. Poland will push bilateral relations for new progress on the sound basis. Constructing "Belt and Road" is of historic significance and conforms with Poland's re-industrialization process, serving as an important opportunity for Poland's development, and Poland is therefore willing to take an active part. Poland will, together with China, expand exchanges in culture, education, tourism and other fields, enhance friendship between both peoples, deepen cooperation under the framework between China and the Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC), and boost coordination and communication in international affairs.

Wang Yi expressed that China and Poland enjoy profound traditional friendship and huge cooperation potential. China values the important role of Poland and will continuously deepen all-round cooperation with Poland to bring new connotations to bilateral strategic partnership and push bilateral relations to develop at the forefront of China's relations with the CEEC and other European countries. China will keep high-level exchanges with Poland to guide bilateral strategic cooperation. China will work with Poland to promote China-CEEC cooperation and hopes Poland continue playing a driving role in the cooperation. China takes Poland as an important cooperative partner in constructing "Belt and Road" and will join hands with Poland to build China-Europe freight trains into a vital channel of "Belt and Road" and explore the possibility of constructing a regional logistic center. Poland is an important member of the EU and China hopes Poland play a propelling role in the development of China-EU relations. China will also deepen coordination with Poland on international and regional issues to jointly safeguard world peace and promote common development.
