On March 12, 2024, Ambassador Fu Cong, Head of the Chinese Mission to the EU, met with Enrique Mora, Deputy Secretary-General of the European External Action Service (EEAS). They had in-depth exchanges of views on China-EU relations and issues of mutual interest.

Ambassador Fu noted that China attaches great importance to China-EU relations. The year of 2023 marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the EU, and witnessed the sound momentum of consolidation and growth of bilateral relations. In 2024, China stands ready to work with the EU to deliver on the outcomes of the 24th China-EU Summit and work for new progress in bilateral ties.

Mr. Mora appreciated the positive progress made in EU-China relations. He said that the EU values relations with China and is willing to work with China to promote the stable growth of bilateral relations.
