Spokesperson of the Chinese Mission to the EU Speaks on a Question Concerning EU's Imposition of Sanctions against Chinese Individuals and Entity for Cyber Attacks

Q: On July 30, the EU decided to impose sanctions on the relevant individuals and entities including some Chinese ones on the grounds of involvement in cyber-attacks. This is the first time for the EU to use the sanctions regime. What’s your comment?

A: As a staunch defender of cyber security and one of the biggest victims of hacking, China consistently fights all forms of cyber attacks in accordance with law. We have all along believed that the international community needs to work together to safeguard cyber security through dialogue and cooperation on the basis of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, and we reject arbitrary resort to unilateral sanctions.
