Ambassador Zhang Ming Invited to the INTA Committee of the European Parliament
2018/05/02

On 23 April, Ambassador Zhang Ming was invited to the meeting of INTA Committee of the European Parliament to exchange views with its members.

Ambassador Zhang said that the China-EU economic and trade relations are mutually beneficial by nature. Many EU companies in China have made profits. As China further delivers on its commitment to opening-up, the China-EU economic and trade cooperation will enjoy more opportunities and brighter prospects. In a world of great uncertainties, a stable China-EU relationship is of great value. China and the EU need to stand up together with a clear stance against unilateralism and protectionism, and to jointly uphold the rules-based multilateral trading system. Ambassador Zhang answered questions on the Belt and Road Initiative, BIT talks, overcapacity, Chinese investment in Europe, and so on.

Ambassador Zhang’s remarks were warmly received by the MEPs, who recognized the importance of the China-EU economic and trade ties and spoke positively of China’s new measures of opening-up.
