Ambassador Zhang Ming Meets Members of EU Chamber of Commerce in China

On 6 February 2019, Ambassador Zhang Ming, Head of the Chinese Mission to the EU, met with a delegation of entrepreneurs led by Mr. Joerg Wuttke, President of the EU Chamber of Commerce in China.

President Wuttke said that European companies in China are part of the Chinese family. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Chamber and its member companies have responded positively to the call of action by providing support and assistance to China as good as possible. The European business community believes that the Chinese economy has a solid basis and great resilience. It will rebound strongly and continue to grow rapidly and steadily after the end of the outbreak. European companies will continue to support the Chinese market and engage in economic and trade cooperation with China.

Ambassador Zhang briefed on the outbreak in China and the measures taken by the Chinese government to contain the epidemic and resume economic activities. He stressed that China would continue to work with the international community, including the EU, to deal with the outbreak openly, transparently and responsibly, and help maintain global health security. Ambassador Zhang thanked the Chamber and European companies for supporting and helping with China’s response efforts. He is confident that with concerted efforts of both sides, China-EU economic and trade cooperation will move forward and bring more benefits to both Chinese and European companies and citizens.
