Minister-Counselor Fei Shengchao Attends Webinar on the New Development Paradigm in China
2021/04/02

On March 31, 2021, Fei Shengchao, Minister-Counselor of the Chinese Mission to the EU, attended a webinar on the New Development Paradigm in China jointly hosted by the Chinese Mission to the EU and the European think tank Friends of Europe. He delivered a speech at the webinar and answered questions about China-EU relations.

Minister-Counselor Fei spoke about China’s 14th Five-year Plan and the long-range objectives through 2035, and elaborated on the inherent logic, main contents and specific measures of China’s new development philosophy and paradigm in the new development stage. He stressed that the new development paradigm doesn’t mean a closed domestic circulation, but an open system of dual circulations with the domestic and international markets reinforcing each other. The COVID-19 pandemic has not shaken China’s resolve to press ahead with reform and opening-up, and its new development paradigm is sure to bring more opportunities for Europe and the world.

Eva Valle Lagares, Minister-Counselor at the EU delegation to China, and experts and scholars from academic organizations, such as Chinese Institute of Hong Kong, University of International Business and Economics, and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), participated in the webinar.
