Xi Jinping Sends Congratulatory Letter to Launching Ceremony of China Center for International Knowledge on Development and China's Progress Report on Implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

On August 21, the launching ceremony of China Center for International Knowledge on Development (CIKD) and China's Progress Report on Implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was held in Beijing. President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to it.

Xi Jinping pointed out that implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is the common mission of international development and cooperation, and also the shared responsibility of the international community at present. The Chinese government attaches great importance to implementing the agenda and has released China’s National Plan on Implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. China has promoted the implementation works in three major areas including economy, society and environment, achieving numerous early harvests. The country will persistently implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and promote national development toward a more qualified, efficient, fair, and sustainable way.

Xi Jinping stressed that the establishment of the CIKD is an important measure that I proposed at the UN Sustainable Development Summit in September 2015, and I am glad to see the official launching of the CIKD. I hope the CIKD to make positive contributions to researching and exchanging development theories, facilitating international development and cooperation and promoting the globe to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
