Xi Jinping Accepts Credentials from Fourteen Newly-appointed Ambassadors to China

On September 13, 2017, President Xi Jinping accepted credentials presented by 14 newly-appointed Ambassadors to China at the Great Hall of the People.

The guard of honor lined up on both sides of stairs outside the North Gate of the Great Hall of the People. The trumpeters blew the horns to greet guests. Newly-appointed Ambassadors to China arrived successively, entering the Beijing Hall. The Ambassadors presented credentials to Xi Jinping in succession in front of the aerial photograph of Beijing. Xi Jinping shook hands and posed for photos with them. These fourteen newly-appointed Ambassadors are Austrian Ambassador to China Friedrich Stift, Uzbek Ambassador to China Bakhtiyor Saidov, Senegalese Ambassador to China Mamadou Ndiaye, Azerbaijani Ambassador to China Akram Zeynalli, Burundian Ambassador to China Martin Mbazumutima, Nigerian Ambassador to China Baba Ahmad Jidda, Ugandan Ambassador to China Chrispus Kiyonga, Gabonese Ambassador to China Baudelaire Ndong Ella, Finnish Ambassador to China Jarno Syrjala, Dutch Ambassador to China Everardus Kronenburg, Irish Ambassador to China Eoin O'Leary, Panamanian Ambassador to China Francisco Escobar Pedreschi, Belgian Ambassador to China Marc Vinck and Luxembourg's Ambassador to China Marc Hübsch.

Xi Jinping welcomed all Ambassadors to China to assume their new posts in China and asked them to convey his sincere greetings and sound wishes to relevant state leaders and their people. Xi Jinping pointed out that the Chinese government will provide convenience and support for them to fulfill their duties. It is hoped that they will make positive contributions to promoting friendship and bilateral relations between China and their countries. Speaking positively of friendly relations between China and each country, Xi Jinping said that China is willing to enhance political mutual trust, promote practical cooperation, and boost friendly exchanges with each country, so as to constantly elevate bilateral relations to new stages and better benefit the Chinese people and people of other countries at large.

Conveying respective state leaders' warm regards to Xi Jinping, the Ambassadors said that their countries highly value their relations with China, cherish the friendship between the peoples, and expect to actively participate in the "Belt and Road" construction and further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation. The Ambassadors expressed that they feel greatly honored to serve as Ambassadors to China and will devote their best efforts to facilitating mutual understanding and trust between the peoples as well as advancing communication and cooperation between their countries and China in various fields.
