More Leaders of Foreign Governments Express Their Condolence to China on the Earthquake Disaster in Sichuan (IX)

More leaders of foreign governments sent messages to Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao, to express their deep condolence over the devastating earthquake in Wenchuan, Sichuan. They also expressed support for China's disaster relief efforts.

Japanese Emperor Akihito expressed deep condolences to the victims of the earthquake as well as profound sorrow over the huge losses caused by the quake and extended sincere solace to the Chinese people, in particular, the relatives of the dead.

Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej felt deeply sorry for the heavy casualties and huge property losses caused by the earthquake. Thailand's crown princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn also expressed profound condolences to the Chinese people and the victims' families and wished the injured a quick recovery.

Sultan of Brunei Hassana Bolkiah said his people sympathize with the anguish of the Chinese people and support China's efforts to overcome the difficulties.

Morocco's King Mohammed VI expressed deep sorrow over the devastating earthquake in Sichuan. He extended sincere sympathy to the families of the victims and friendly Chinese people, while wishing the injured a quick recovery and praying for China.

British Queen Elizabeth II expressed shock and regret over the human and property losses in the quake, and extended deep condolences and solace to the Chinese people. British Prime Minister Gordon Brown extended his deepest condolences to the victims' families in the disaster-stricken areas and highly valued China's rapid, effective reaction to the disaster.

Swedish King Carl XVI Gustav also sent his deepest and sincere condolences to the families of the quake victims.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko expressed deep grief over the huge losses being suffered by the friendly Chinese people. Ukraine is ready to offer support and assistance within its ability to China in its disaster relief and will provide humanitarian aid to the country.

Romanian President Traian Basescu and Foreign Minister Lazar Comanescu expressed grief over the heavy casualties and huge property losses caused by the earthquake and extended sincere condolences to the victims, as well as sympathy and support to their families. He also expressed his belief that the Chinese government is capable of getting through this difficult time at an early date.
