Li Yuanchao Attends the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2016

On January 21, 2016 local time, Vice President Li Yuanchao attended the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2016 in Davos, Switzerland, and delivered a special speech at a special meeting on Chinese economy and 2016 G20 Summit.

Li Yuanchao expressed that the world economy is at a crucial stage to transform its driving force. China’s economy has entered the new normal. In 2015, the economic growth rate of China still ranked top among major global economies, remaining an important driving force for global economic growth. China is confident and capable of maintaining the momentum of medium-high speed of economic growth, and will carry out new development notions of innovation, coordination, environmental protection, openness and sharing, and foster new economic impetus through reform and innovation so as to achieve a sustainable development with quality and efficiency and push its economy for better, steadier and further development. A well-developed China is in itself an important contribution to the development of human race. China will continuously hold high the banner of peace, development, cooperation and win-win results and join hands with other countries to address challenges. Under the theme of “Towards an Innovative, Invigorated, Interconnected and Inclusive World Economy”, the 11th G20 Summit in Hangzhou, China this September will mainly focus its negotiations and discussions on innovating growth models, improving global economic and financial governance, boosting international trade and investment, promoting inclusive and interconnected development and other aspects, in an effort to provide new impetus for the development of world economy.

On the same day, President Johann Schneider-Ammann of the Swiss Confederation met with Li Yuanchao. Both sides exchanged in-depth views on further deepening bilateral friendly cooperative relations.

During the meeting, Li Yuanchao also met respectively with Prime Minister Rui Maria de Araújo of East Timor and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab. He also gave an exclusive interview to Bloomberg.
