Xi Jinping pointed out that during my state visit to Mongolia this August, we jointly announced to upgrade the China-Mongolia relationship to comprehensive strategic partnership and reached broad consensus and multiple agreements. I am willing to keep close communication with you. Legislative bodies, governments, political parties, armies and civilian sectors of the two countries should enhance exchanges and cooperation. The economic cooperation between China and Mongolia, which is of mutual benefit and win-win results, will bring benefits to the two peoples. We should link China’s initiative of building the Silk Road Economic Belt and Mongolia's initiative of the Prairie Road, primarily promote the cooperation in connectivity, mining, power, agriculture and animal husbandry, sign the China-Mongolia free trade agreement at an early date, and speed up the pace to build China-Mongolia cross-border economic cooperation zone. China welcomes Mongolia's entry into the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), backs its participation in international and regional affairs and supports it to join the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). A few days ago, the heads of state from China, Mongolia and Russia held a meeting. China stands ready to work with Mongolia and Russia to build the economic corridor linking the three countries and promote common development.

Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj said that he has met with President Xi Jinping for five times this year, fully exchanging views on the development of bilateral relations. He is grateful to President Xi Jinping for his care for and efforts in promoting the bilateral cooperation and is willing to, together with the Chinese side, earnestly implement the results achieved during President Xi Jinping’s visit to Mongolia, actively push forward major cooperation projects covering railway, energy, mining and other fields and boost people-to-people and cultural exchanges.
