Li Yuanchao Meets with President Abdul Hamid of Bangladesh
2014/11/08

On November 8, 2014, Vice President Li Yuanchao met in Beijing with visiting President Abdul Hamid of Bangladesh, who was in China for the attendance of the Dialogue on Strengthening Connectivity Partnership.

Li Yuanchao said that China cherishes the traditional friendship with Bangladesh and hopes to see common development of the two countries. As Bangladesh enjoys a favorable geographic location and huge population, China and Bangladesh are highly complementary in their economy. It is hoped that both sides could earnestly implement the strategic plan blueprinted by leaders of the two countries, expand cooperation in economic and trade investment, infrastructure, industrial parks and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and promote the construction of the Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar (BCIM) Economic Corridor, so as to benefit the two peoples as well as the people in the region.

Abdul Hamid said that Bangladesh hopes that China could expand investment in Bangladesh to help the country in infrastructure construction and deepen the people-to-people and cultural exchanges with the country.
