Li Keqiang Meets with President Joachim Gauck of Germany

In the morning of October 10 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met in Berlin with President Joachim Gauck of Germany.

Li Keqiang first conveyed kind greetings from President Xi Jinping to President Joachim Gauck. Li Keqiang expressed that thanks to the joint efforts of both sides, China-Germany relations have maintained a sound momentum of robust development, with the bilateral cooperation reaching an unprecedented level both in depth and in breadth. China stands ready to work with Germany to chart the course of bilateral medium-to-long-term cooperation, view each other with spirits of mutual respect, equality, mutual benefit and mutual inclusiveness and in an objective and comprehensive manner, sufficiently understand each other's national conditions, enhance strategic mutual trust, broaden practical cooperation and lay a solid foundation for China-Germany friendship, so as to usher into a brighter prospect for bilateral all-round strategic partnership.

Li Keqiang pointed out that my visits to the three European and Asian countries including Germany and attendance at the 10th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Summit are aimed at promoting development and cooperation of the Eurasian continent and maintaining peace and stability of the region. As China and Germany are both nations with great influence, strengthening bilateral cooperation will not only conduce to both sides, but also significantly contribute to world peace, stability and prosperity. China is willing to join efforts with Germany to intensify communication and coordination on international and regional affairs and jointly address global challenges.

Li Keqiang stressed that China is comprehensively deepening reform and further expanding opening-up. We stand ready to build on our national conditions to draw on the valuable achievements of human civilizations, continuously deliver the dividends of reform, and score greater development. We believe that it will also bring new opportunities for China to conduct cooperation with other countries including Germany.

Joachim Gauck welcomed Li Keqiang to visit Germany and asked Li Keqiang to convey his kind greetings to President Xi Jinping. Joachim Gauck said that as both Germany and China are committed to boosting economic development now, further strengthening partnership and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides will facilitate the process. He expects the new round of inter-governmental consultations between the two nations to reap fruitful results, so as to promote bilateral cooperation in various fields including innovation. Joachim Gauck noted that the Communist Party of China (CPC) has a strong capacity of self-innovation, and he admires the great achievements China has made in its development and is fully confident in China's future. Germany is willing to work with China to learn from each other's development experience, enhance mutual understanding and trust, and achieve harmonious coexistence and common development.
