Li Keqiang and Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany Jointly Meet the Press

In the afternoon of October 10 local time, Premier Li Keqiang and Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany jointly met the press after the successful completion of the third round of China-Germany inter-governmental consultations in Berlin.

Li Keqiang introduced the achievements of the third round of China-Germany inter-governmental consultations. He said that the two sides jointly issued the Action Outline for China-Germany Cooperation, making strategic planning for the bilateral cooperation in various fields in the next five to ten years. At present, the world economic recovery is still faced with some unstable factors, and China is willing to join hands with Germany to strengthen strategic communication and coordination, exploit potential of investment and trade, and jointly build the innovative partnership, especially in strengthening innovative cooperation in the field of industry, solidifying the foundation of people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and further uplifting the level of the bilateral cooperation, so as to yield more cooperation achievements. Recently, through equal consultations, China and the European Union (EU) have reached a consensus on handling the case of wireless communication countervailing issued by EU to China. He hoped that the case can be settled as soon as possible. Both sides should continue to insist on solving divergences through dialogue and consultations, and realize win-win development in promoting cooperation.

Merkel said that Germany and China have conducted extensive exchanges and candid dialogue as well as in-depth cooperation in such fields as politics, economy, peace and security. The bilateral relations have become increasingly closer and the government consultations between Germany and China have been productive, which is an important reflection of Germany-China innovative cooperation. The two countries taking the innovative cooperation as the key of the future cooperation will strongly promote the development of the bilateral relations. Germany welcomes China to attend next year's Hanover Trade Fair of Consumer Electronics, Information and Communication as a cooperative partner, and welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest in Germany and more Chinese citizens to travel in Germany and Germany will provide such convenience as visa. The EU-China cooperation is mutually beneficial and win-win. Germany supports the early signing of the investment agreement between the EU and China as well as further expansion of the cooperation.

Li Keqiang and Merkel also answered the questions from the journalists.
