Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore

In the morning of October 17 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore in Milan.

Li Keqiang said that China attaches great importance to the development of friendly and cooperative relations with Singapore. Next year will mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relationship between China and Singapore. The development of the bilateral relations faces important opportunities and broad space. China is willing to work with Singapore to maintain the unique advantage of advancing with the times in the bilateral relations, deepen practical cooperation, expand common interests, forge new pillar projects and form new highlights of cooperation, so as to achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcome. I hope that the two sides well hold the annual meeting of the China-Singapore bilateral cooperation mechanism to be held at the end of this month. China welcomes Singapore to participate in the development and construction of central and western China.

Li Keqiang said that the strategic partnership between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has entered the second decade. China has always attached great importance to its relations with the ASEAN. Singapore will become the coordinator of China-ASEAN relationship next year. China is willing to collaborate closely with Singapore to push forward the China-ASEAN relationship for constant development.

Lee Hsien Loong said that China has constantly scored new achievements of development, and Singapore-China cooperation is facing new opportunities. Singapore is willing to work along with China to well implement the agreed cooperative projects, expand cooperation with China’s central and western regions, and expand cooperation in such fields as logistics, investment, and green development, so as to promote connectivity and sustainable development in the region.
