The Brazilian Government Donates Relief Materials to Quake-hit Areas in Sichuan

On May 20, 2008, Brazilian ambassador to China Luiz Augusto De Castro Neves conveyed a list of 200,000 U.S. dollars worth of relief materials for the quake-hit areas to Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Li Jinzhang. Li expressed heartfelt thanks to Brazil's aid and conferred a donation certificate to the Brazilian side.

These materials consist of tents, cotton-padded quilts and food, which were sent from Beijing to Chengdu by train on May 19 and were scheduled to arrive in the quake areas at 11 p.m. on May 21.
